It was a definitely a beautiful afternoon & night for Mindy & Justin’s wedding this past Friday. Boy, what a fun couple and a fun wedding to be a part of. This couple definitely did not want more than an hour’s worth of posed pictures, of either themselves or of them with family. They just wanted the day to continue as if I was never there! Which, incidentally, is completely fine by me 🙂
Justin actually proposed to Mindy in an unorthodox way, from what I heard from one of the toasts from the best man. They were all on a camping trip together, and he suddenly told Mindy that if she could name his favorite actor, he would get down on one knee right now and propose. From what the best man’s experience was, Mindy’s face went from shock of what just happened to excitement about the possible proposal to anxious over having to answer the question. After two wrong tries, I’m sure Mindy will never forget that Justin’s favorite actor is…. Clint Eastwood. I’m sure you will get a good idea of how fun this couple was from their pictures posted below.
Mindy waiting to see if the coast is clear to go into the church for pictures, since they didn’t see each other before the wedding.
This is a neat shot of fixing her dress prior to the ceremony
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I love when couples don’t see each other prior to the ceremony.
I posted this picture, because there is so much going on! If you notice, everyone is looking at the couple after they lovingly embraced each other after the long wait of not seeing each other and the excitement of getting married. Then, you have the sole little girl in the colorful curlers looking away, back down the aisle, for some unknown reason! Maybe she was trying to get a glimpse of me 😉
Again, a fun and real shot of kids at a wedding.
The ceremony was an hour & 15 minutes long, so I had lots and lots of time to take pictures.
Outside for the receiving line
I love it when I can capture moments like this unnoticed.
So, we got to the reception, started to eat dinner, and we still had not taken any pictures with the bride & groom, let alone the bride by herself! We managed to work with what little light left outside.
See?! Like I said… completely fun!
One shot they wanted to do was pose up at the sign outside of John P. Murzyn Hall. Then, spontaneously, they said they wanted a picture of them jumping. It turned out to be a very cute shot which fits their personality perfectly.
One of my favorite pictures of the night. If you are wondering what is going on in this picture, they are stealing the bride 🙂
Another great part of this wedding were the speeches. There was so much emotion and so many good things said by their family and friends. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the toasts.
The DJ was a little “off his rocker”, but I think that is why they choose him. He had some outlandish things planned for the evening, one of them being what is going on in the picture below. After all of the toasts, he had everyone stand up, put their arms around each other, and sing “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.”
He also had them sing the National Anthem prior to the first dance… don’t ask me why, but he did…
The first dance
The only time Mindy shed any tears that day was when she danced with her father to “In My Daughter’s Eyes” by Faith Hill.
Thank you, Mindy & Justin! Your wedding was definitely one to remember!
