I got to meet Logan, Annie & Tony’s little boy, who’s maternity session I did a month or so ago. Logan came into the world in kind of a rough way, and after Annie told me her story, I was fuming! Apparently, she thought that her water had broken at 39 weeks, so she went in to have it checked. The nurse was skeptical about the fact that her water had broken (“If your water had broken, you would have known it”), did a quick, but not thorough exam, and then sent her on her way. Her water was broken, in fact, and she walked around like that for 2 more days!!! Finally, she wasn’t feeling good, so she went back into the hospital to have herself checked again, not to mention the fact that she wasn’t feeling Logan move around as much. They then discovered that her water was broken and got labor going right away. Logan was born with fluid in his lungs and a temperature, but he is completely fine now with no lasting effects. He could have easily died or had something more complicated happen to him because of that nurse’s ignorance!!! Well, at least things did turn out great, and Logan is a bright, happy, and beautiful little newborn. Congrats, Annie & Tony!
